REACH Homes is a not-for-profit business which aims to change the housing market. Our eco-homes, converted from shipping containers, start from just £35,000, cost 90% less to heat than a traditional home and use >60% recycled local materials.
Our prototype 1-bed house can be seen at Heeley City Farm by appointment or on Farm Open Days.

Our Ethos
At REACH we believe that everyone deserves the chance to own their own home. We also think that homes should be efficient and comfortable. With projected energy supply problems in the future and ever-rising costs we should plan now to include as many features as we can to show people how easily we can tap in to free energy and make it work better for us.
Passivhaus standard is a goal which we aim to achieve in time, but we will be using the draught-free and heavily insulated aspects which underpin it from day one. This makes REACH homes inexpensive to run, cutting the lifetime cost of the property and making them cutting edge in terms of design and function.
Our homes will initially be sold on a single floor plan, although we hope to very quickly bring in customisation to allow owners to choose interior and exterior finishes. Our 2 and 3 bed versions feature 1200 and 1400sq ft of space but we will be exploring the huge variety of designs which containers allow us to work with as we progress.
